TIS, Thermal Imaging Systems are for predictive and preventative maintenance and they provide temperature measurement and thermal imaging. They measure the surface temperature and they profile & generate images in different colors according to different temperatures.

Pyrometers are instruments that measure temperatures by optical or infrared methodology without contact.  Infrared and/or Radiation pyrometers are a class of non-contact instruments measuring temperatures between -50 - 3000 °C. These are typically used to measure temperatures of metals (iron, aluminum) and glass in a steel mill or foundry.
